I guess we will see when any of these return from Kelly AFB (KSKF) but I wonder if this is for an upgrade rather than scheduled maintenance?

To caveat, I am not familiar with exactly what happens for the PDM process but I imagine in a massive oversimplification it is similar to the process for civil aircraft with the A, B, C and D check process. So my thinking is the PDM occurs at Warner Robbins and I suspect that there is some form of avionics or load out upgrade which happens at this separate facility, standalone from the scheduled PDM.

The only differentiator I could see was if these are in fact for PDM at KSKF, those 4 jets might have been used more regularly hence used their maintenance hours faster than some other frames at Lakenheath.

All just speculation for now from me but an interesting point nonetheless about the frequency of these activities.

Agreed - I think the pdm is what it says on the tin - planned maintenance to make sure the wings don't fall off

Maybe Kelly is warfighting upgrades - EPAWS , better radar etc - complete guess work I freely admit but it does encourage people more knowledgeable to jump in - I mean that genuinely as it is the best way to find out what is happening by listening to others.
