Haha! I was at LN on Tuesday and the heat haze was significant, that said it was warm with very little wind. It's turning out to be much cloudier than forecast so maybe photographic prospects are looking up, while temperatures are seemingly going the other way!Snoop 95 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 2:38 pmHeat Haze! B****y freezing today.DanBeeden wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 4:15 pmEven if they do come through LN, with easterly winds and sunshine forecast for the foreseeable, unless they arrive very early morning or early evening the heat haze will rule out decent shots of nose art etc. This only matters of course if getting pics of the artwork and mission symbols is your aim!

Did the MO birds turn up? Was it just 6 or the 18 complete.
Any idea as to when they leave. Guess tomorrow or Sunday, as usual stay a night or 2.

11 arrived today, 1 didn't get beyond Aviano. 6 more expected tomorrow.B2Stealth4Fairford wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 8:44 pmDid the MO birds turn up? Was it just 6 or the 18 complete.

Many thanks HBHM for that. No rush to go over tomorrow unless to view the stragglers.
Monday morning maybe the best time by the sound of it. Hope early isn’t before breakfast. Sure they will want their Steak and Eggs before flying time.

Just so that you are aware - from the gov.uk website:
"You should continue to minimise the amount you travel where possible. This means you should avoid making unnecessary trips and combine trips where possible."

So I will leave you the choice of either the MOs or your bacon & eggs, etc. Which will it be??

Considering you can now stay away for as long as you like in a caravan or in self catered accommodation such as air bnb with people from your household, that's not really relevant any more is it?Nighthawke wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 9:38 pmJust so that you are aware - from the gov.uk website:

It is relevent as it is current guidance as updated today. Whether individuals choose to comply or ignore is up to them. Plenty have. Help was the intention - take it or leave it, I really don't care.

Can anyone confirm where they are parked and are they are visible from the outside ??
Re: Are MO F15s due w/c 12th April?
A friend went up today, they are spread over both pans I believe, he could only read 12 of 13 seen, the others remained elusive.
His log of what could be seen if it helps.

Thanks for the heads up Bob (rh226) of the airfield NOTAM and departures are that early, I think I will stay and have my Bacon & Eggs. Would have been interested if it was 1000.
There is early bird, and early bird. Considering I am a Night Owl, neither are are good for me
0545 that serious kip time.
Blimey they must be on to a sure thing, and keen to get there.

Re: Are MO F15s due w/c 12th April?
Hiya, can anyone confirm how many are currently there before i make the 3.30am drive to Lakenheath tomorrow morning please
also am i correct to presume all will be leaving tomorrow morning or would it be only the Saturday arrivals?
Many thanks

Many thanks
Re: Are MO F15s due w/c 12th April?
There's 17 at Lakenheath at present (1 had to divert to Aviano and is still there) and I presume that the 11 that arrived on Friday will depart before the 6 that arrived on Saturday to allow for crew rest.
