FRidays are normally a quiet day at all British Military airfields. Any flying normally stops at lunchtime.

The C-40 had 60-plus pob which would reinforce the likelihood of USMC/USN deployment to Lakenheath

When the F-35s were at Lakenheath back in May, the based F-15Cs and F-15Es were flying too, at least on the days that I visited.
Ah okay, I mean exactly the Fridays.. As far as I know, the Spangdahlem F-16’s won’t fly that much on fridays... Is it the same in Lakenheath / Mildenhall?

Jordy
Ah, I see what you mean. No personal experience of LN on a Friday, but looking at Glencoe's radio logs (alongside this thread in the Lakenheath section), Fridays seem to be normal activity in the morning, and nothing in the afternoon.

Does anyone have even the roughest idea when the visitors are likely to turn up?

I'm sadly not an LN regular but I'm thinking of going tomorrow. Is it likely to be a case of getting there as soon a it gets light and just hoping for the best?

Blimey... That raises two more questions, then!
Are the 22s expected to move tomorrow or is it more likely to be a maintenance day, seeing as it's Friday? And any further word on the 35s?

This will be a great laugh if it's just F-22 crews deploying to play with based F-15s & Typhoons :lol:

I imagine it's just extra crews that are already here ahead of the jets arriving later.

Ah well, situation normal, then!
Turn up as early as sensible and just wait to see what happens! Remembering not to hold your breath... :D :D

Thinking about it all, if (big IF) F35's turn up wouldn't it make more sense if they were Ar force jets, instead of Marine Corps or Navy?
Reasons:
1: They would want to train air force assets together first, before bringing in USMC or Navy jets;
2: Have the Navy even got enough F35C's to be able to deploy them in any sort of numbers?

Just a few thoughts,
Regards
