Re: A10's return ?
Was the scrubbed westbound Coronet today related perhaps?
Some due to go back stateside, some due to drop into LN perhaps? I know the 480thFS went to Nellis a few days ago but I thought I`d read somewhere that half the DM deployment were due home in July as well.

No the ALTRV is to high for the A-10, they will likely go back via Lajes. Not sure what the Coronet was for, hopefully find out tomorrow
According to the Warthog Blog Facebook page and the Aviationist the A-10s have gone back to Poland until they go home at the end of July
So I wouldn't expect any det to Lakenheath apart from the two going to Yeovilton / RIAT

Re: A10's return ?
No just Lakenheath LKZ is the IATA 3-letter code, as EGUL is the 4-letter ICAO code.

Re: A10's return ?
Can somebody confirm how many A-10's have been at Lakenheath, assuming two have now gone to Fairford. Any news of them returning next week, and if they will be joined by the other A-10's still in Europe. Thanks

Re: A10's return ?
source airforce times:
"A-10s from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, will head home in August after a months-long tour across Europe to reassure allies after the incursion of Russian-backed separatists into Ukraine.
The A-10s, assigned to the 355th Fighter Wing at Davis-Monthan, will wrap up their tour with a four-day stay at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, where they will train with F-15Cs, and practice combat search and rescue."

Re: A10's return ?
We heard them on the scanner yesterday down on the range at Holbeach, doing 'dry strafing cannon' runs, then the controller gave them ten minutes 'play time' !
