Liberty Wing to Commemorate 20th anniversary of F-15E arrival at RAF Lakenheath

Release Number: 010212

2/3/2012 - ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The 48th Fighter Wing will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the F-15E Strike Eagle's arrival at the base with a celebratory flight Feb. 10, 2012. RAF Lakenheath invites media to attend the event at 8 a.m.

The 48th Operations Group received its first F-15E on February 21, 1992, and within two years, the base became the largest F-15E/F-15C composite unit in the U.S. Air Force.

Since then, the F-15 squadrons have supported numerous U.S. and NATO missions, including Operation Deny Flight in Bosnia, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Odyssey Dawn/Unified Protector in Libya.

Media representatives in attendance will have the opportunity to observe the F-15E celebratory landing and conduct interviews with U.S. Air Force personnel.

Mac is wrong ! just to put Celebratory Flight on their web site when people are travelling around 100 miles ,and give people an idea when they phone that there will be some sort of display is wrong ,Celebratory flight could mean anything ,not enough information given on the flying side of the event ,Nuff Said !!! ok

I'm sorry but are you trolling or being serious? The press release clearly states
Media representatives in attendance will have the opportunity to observe the F-15E celebratory landing and conduct interviews with U.S. Air Force personnel.
If there was going to be display of any kind you'd have expected the press release to state it or a NOTAM to be issued. Nothing was mentioned in the press release and there was no NOTAM.
