Lakenheath log 4.3.25

Post by StevenBOWES » Tue Mar 04, 2025 8:02 pm

A morning visit produced the following. I had intended to arrive earlier but it took over 30 minutes to get through Brandon due to roadworks.
13 F-35A had taken off prior to arrival. A fellow spotter kindly provided the serials. All returned by 0934. Unfortunantly I do not know callsigns or groups that took off. 20-5600/lN, 19-5493/LN. 20-5576/WA. 20-5614/LN. 20-5617/LN,
20-5595/LN, 22-5685/LN, 20-5601/LN, 19-5485/LN, 20-5616/LN, 22-5682/LN, 19-5476/LN, 19-5495/LN
Subsequent movements
Took off 0846 F-15E 97-0222/LNb, 91-0301/LN, 91-0316/LNb

Took off 0855 F-15E 91-0605/LN, 97-0219/LNb, 98-0135/LNb, 97-0220/LNb

Took off 0858 F-35A 20-5615/LN, 20-5583/LN

Taxi back. Went north side but then taxied back 0915 F-35A 20-5604/LN

High overhead, south to north 0945 E-3F FAF (204)

Taxi back. To last chance & then return to parking F-15E 96-0201/LN '48FW'

Took off 0950 F-15E 91-0310/LNr

Took off 0951 F-35A 20-5570/LN, 20-5604/LN

Took off 0953 F-15E 91-0603/LNr, 01-2000/LNr

Took off 0956 F-15E 91-0313/LNr, 00-3002/LNr

Took off 1005 F-15E 91-0324/LNr, 92-0364/LNr

Took off 1032 F-15E 96-0201/LN '48FW'

It was difficult to read landing aircraft from the car park due to facing the sun. Moral of the story, 'get there early to get them taking off'

Nice log keep them coming - Lakenheath are flying from 07:30 this week at least

I think that is the reason I go to the busy forest entrance as you have the sun behind you although of course the majority of F-35A depart from the north eor making them nice and easy to read

The F-35A do carry individual unit markings on the tail that are quite distinguishable from either side
