Quick Log and Req 3rd April 23

Post by R4vingHarrier » Mon Apr 03, 2023 11:08 am

Afternoon All,

A quick visit in the hope of catching some F35 launches and I pick the day the wind is blowing the wrong way...

In the sun shelters were:

5474
5580
5476
5582
5588
5589
5493
5495
5570
5475

Can anyone help with these departures? No radio so no callsigns in afraid.

3x F35 Dep 1105
4x F35 Dep 1114
2x F35 Dep 1118

Also saw 2x F15 over Mildenhall around 1015-1030 which ADSB suggested below. Can anyone confirm?

01-2002
98-0133

Any help for anout towner would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Dave

Re The 2 F15’s overhead 01-2002 is correct as this flew today. Not so sure on 98-0133 as this is not listed. I believe it would have been 96-0204. Anyone able to confirm it was flying on ADSB as 98-0133. Cheers John.

2 F35,s landed at around 1445. Were they 2 that flew in the morning, or were they additional one's.

Dave
Can you advise from where you managed to read those 35s off under the sun shelters ?
Thanks in anticipation

Hi Steve,

Along the road looking across the base golf course.

Park at the entrance to the farmer's field (but not blocking access) and the head right from there towards the viewing area.

Requires a bit of back and forth to catch the gaps between the trees but think I only missed 1 or 2 of those I could see.

Best
Dave

Thank You Dave - I'd assumed that they weren't visible from the outside with all the recent construction & mature trees etc
Sure others will be grateful for that info too.

Hi Dave

Great info... much appreciated... I've gone left from the entrance before to view the shelters... Great to know that the right option is the more productive one.

A bit like the old days trying to get the MH and SJ F15Es... you could drive down the fence line in them days. :D

Thanks again for the heads up :thumb:

Regards
