Flying activity this week

Post by Rob666 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 3:37 pm

Afternoon,

I am thinking of coming up this Wednesday, to catch the 16's and see some Eagle action. I have about a 4 hour drive so wanted to check what time the first wave/mission takes place.

Also I have not visited the base, since the 111's left, so assume still park in the viewing area and then walk to the end of the runway for landing shots? If want over the piano keys are they ok on using ladders against the fence.

Cheers in advance.

Rob

Hi

Flying as been good last week and hopefully this week also. F15 and F16 were busy today. Plenty use ladders but not near the fence. on the grass area on the side of David’s burger van.

Hope this helps

Ian

Ops started at 8.30 today with 10 F-16s flying twice, once in the morning once in the afternoon. LOTS of F-15E ops in the morning, some in the afternoon with F-15C ops afternoon only.

Very busy here this morning... 10 x F16s up with quite a good number of F15Es... No F15c's yet.

Two more F16s are at the last chance 525 was paired with 541 but 541 taxi'd back in and 709 came out but this jet seems to have a problem as it is sat at the last chance with the canopy up.

More Eagles starting up and taxing out now... very busy day so far.

Hi, Tiger 1 reported earlier on this thread that 02 C-17 was departing on 31st July approx 1208. Does anyone know what the C-17 was nose on from the viewing area on the morning of August 1st......had 02 returned or was this a different aircraft ? thanks for any info.

It was 02 again. It has been going back and forth to Keflavik.
