John's Field Re-opening for Day Visitors

Post by john@runway11 » Sat May 15, 2021 1:50 pm

( The Nook Campsite )

Viewing Area:

The viewing area will be open from Monday 17th May
Opening times 0800Hrs to 2030Hrs During the Spring/Summer. No Night viewing permitted.

You need to plan ahead before you visit, there are no toilet facilities available on site to day visitors!

The honesty box has been relocated, onto the sign at the start of the track, please drop your money in and drive to the end of the track, the parking area is clearly defined as the grass is cut. Do not drive across the field, Rye Grass is been grown for feed!

All the buildings and the camping area is strictly off limits, remain in the viewing area or walk up and down the track.
Do not speed on the site, its 5 MPH we have young kids who use the site.
The trailer is still working progress, so its out of use.

Campers:

I will only accept campers by advance booking only, do not turn up and expect to camp, you will be turned around!

Regards
John

As and when John thinks its safe to do so.I would think John would rather have the toilets open than people sneeaking off round the back of the sheds and doing what some do.Don't forget there are camaras up so anyone that does will be seen .Lets take one step at a time,go to Sainburys down Mildenhall or Walkers cafe before you come up possibly

Good to have the field open again, can you remind me how much it is (and is it per person or car) and also with regards to the above questions concerning toilet breaks etc do you have to re pay on entry ?
thanks
Phil

I can not comply with the COVID regulations required to keep the toilets clean. They would need to be cleaned 10 times a day plus 2 deep cleans. Plus we would have to track and trace every person who used it, We are classified as a campsite not a public park!

Sorry I didn't explain myself , what I was referring to were the '' toilets''. I was hoping they could reopen on the 19th. I know the field has been open for some time.

Hi John
If you can reopen the toilets Monday[19th]. Please post to let us all know. I have been waiting for ages to be able to get back there. Unfortunately with age brings a constant awareness of where the nearest toilet is .

The toilets will NOT re-open on the 19th July. Unfortunately we are living in a different world and COVID is on the increase.
I am not putting myself at risk cleaning the toilets.

"John's Field"
From Noon today, one toilet (Trap 1) will be available for day visitors.
To keep our campers safe ( Trap 2) will be for campers only.
Please ensure that you leave the toilet facilities clean after use.
Regards John

Is this information still current? I live fairly close to Mildenhall and took a drive down with my camera but couldn't find a decent point to stop (unlike Lakenheath).
