RAF Honington Exercise

Post by Snoop 95 » Fri Mar 12, 2021 9:42 am

Local paper says that there will be an overnight exercise at RAF Honington involving C130's and helo's next Monday 15th March. Hours stated are 2100 - 0400. Not good for photography then!

Lockdown isn't good for photography either and it is still in effect!

Another exercise on base this week, however there is no planned aircraft activity. Though RAFH have just put out the following notice:

NOISE WARNING - 17 JUNE 1000hrs

We are assisting with a large exercise being held on the Airfield this week and there will be an explosion set off on the runway at 1000 on Thu 17 Jun.

It's difficult to quantify the loudness of a small charge being set off but this one is expected to be louder than the normal training devices we use.

We hope that this won't cause too much disruption to our friendly neighbouring communities.
