GLOUCESTERSHIRE). 14-06-0487/AS 7. 0500-2200, 02 JUN 05:00 2014 UNTIL 20 JUN

Does this not cover FFD untill the EX ends including todays alleged movements ??
Yeah that covers it, but they still seem to Notam when open! Oddballs lol
Nothing odd about this, if you read the NOTAM from 29 May it clearly states the MATZ or Military Air Traffic Zone around Fairford is activated between 0600 and 2300 from 2 Jun-20 Jun. A MATZ is not the airfield. Therefore expect more NOTAMS like the one today which include a statement such as AD OPEN. RWY 09/27 OPEN. AVBL FOR SCHEDULED MOVEMENTS ONLY. The NOTAM today opens the runway from 1400 till 1900, based on previous form it would indicate a planned movement 1 hour after the opening time

Well, no. This shows the MATZ is open which is a 5 NM ring around the aerodrome, not the aerodrome itself.

Surely gliders have just as much right to use the airspace as anyone else.

I'd say that depends what airspace they're within and if they've called the controlling authority.
