RIAT 2010 Press Day

Post by Joe Malkin » Tue Feb 09, 2010 9:48 pm

The RIAT Facebook page reports that the press day is being planned for Wednesday 9th June 2010. I just thought you'd like to know, as I recall a few members of the board went down to the fence for this last year.

A ride to Mildenhall will keep you fit :P

Joking aside, as asked, it'd be great for any info from people who have gone to this in previous years.

Not a bad cycle ride in the countryside there mate... aslong as you don't go down the main artery road....
Why do they always have the same types turn up for the press day? Its always a KC135, F15 and Typhoon or Tornado. For a major airshow, would be nice to attract some external attention for the press to see (and the cyclists!). :P

Is it still on for Wednesday 9th can anyone confirm?
And has anyone been before who can advise whether it's worth a visit/what happens/etc.??

With a day to go, and from the lack of response, I take it that that is a NO then - it's not on.
Cheers.

Thanks MIKE B. The times quoted do I have to add an hour or are they correct as they are?
Thanks. Mark.

Just a word of warning for those watching from outside and at the 27 end... As of last Friday, the layby was still fenced off as work is being carried out there, so parking will probably be limited.

Cheers,
Lee

Will be the usual traffic, they've got a KC-135, 2x F-15s, Typhoon and Tornados planned. With a 500ft deck for their run and breaks.

Cheers,
Mike

As well as the RIAT press day also Fairford Heritage Day

Aforementioned airplanes should be there ops permitting - not sure on arrival times though
