The morning NOTAM is still on the NATS web site, but the afternoon one seems to have gone.

Hi all,
Please can anyone tell me if 071 has been left outside or not. Any help is much appreciated as ever.

Thanks

Rob

I'm slightly confused as a message said that Dragon51 departed as 329 this morning and later Dragon51 (071) was with Ops.
Both aircraft can't have been Dragon51.
I cycled past Fairford a couple of hours ago, not even knowing there were any U2s due and saw one outside the hangar.
Is that likely to have been 071 please?

They can and were! :) I guess 329 is taking over what 071 was going to do, therefore took his callsign, I'd guess that 071 will go out as Dragon 53 (If that makes sense, it does in my head! - Just my guess theory though, could be wrong)

Yup it would have been 071 you noticed.

Cheers,
Mike

OK, thanks Mike.
Just confirm then - 2 x Dragon51 were airborne at the same time - 1 inbound and 1 outbound?
I can understand them both having the same callsign but only so long as they are not both active at the same time, knowing all about ATC and flight plans.

Indeed, they weren't being worked within the UK at the same time, but were both airborne.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey guys,

Out of curiosity does anyone know if either of these are outside and viewable? If they were I might consider taking a trip down tonight to view them!

Many thanks in advance :)

John
