Just saw him as he turned east to the north of Worcester, interesting view side on this time as I missed him overhead.

Anyone know why they are not putting up departure Notams and only returns at the moment? Can only assume it’s due to the conflict in Ukraine and them not wanting anyone to know their movements!

They haven't needed to post Notams declaring the airfield as open and active for a long time now, I would not be surprised if Notams stop altogether in time.

I can't see how the current situation would have any affect on the Notams being issued, especially when the B-52s are still using Mode-S and the U-2s are still contacting the usual frequencies on departure.

Okay thanks for the explanation. Just seems odd them stopping the Notams the past two days but only posting the returns…

'They haven't needed to post Notams declaring the airfield as open and active for a long time now, I would not be surprised if Notams stop altogether in time.'
The current RAF AIDU Flight Info Service BINA En Route Supplement for Fairford includes the following :-
''AD HOURS - HO . SEE NOTAM'' (HO = service available to meet operational requirements)
So thats clear then
