NOTAM is up from 11:00 till 1:00 tomorrow the length would suggest a mission today presumably by 80-1083 as 68-10337 is yet to return from the hall.

Do they have sufficient sensors at Fairford to allow 083 to fly a mission?

Yes Cranberry I believe they have three sets at Fairford. Quite a long NOTAM for a training flight Bollo. Usually training flight NOTAM's are only 4 hours max. Maybe its for are F-22's :P :P

Don't read anything into the 23:59 closing time. Happens because the person phoning for the MATZ to be opened didn't get told how long for.

Been on headphones (presumably when it launched) but something whiney just buzzed over my house low and slow in Fairford east to west (didn't sound Brize related) so could be the other frame up on training flight.

Culprit wasn't the U-2 - it didn't fly North of the runway. First time 083 has taken to the air since the 13th of July.

U2 flew over work at South Marston @1330.
First time I've seen one over that direction.was reasonably low too.

Positioning in the instrument pattern for an ILS approach to Fairford's Runway 27 as part of a currency sortie. Don't see many over you're way nowadays as the majority of flights are inbound from the North.
