CL60 N88 making its way from Mildenhall for some calibration duties I would think at 1210L, NOTAM now says Flight Calibration until 1700L expect delays !

Do the pogo wheels on the U2 usually drop off before V1? I was thinking that the chase car which follows The Dragon Lady on it's take off roll must communicate to the pilot that both wheels have departed the aircraft. Should 1 wheel not fall off would the pilot have time to abort take off? I am aware of the U2 crash at Fairford about 20 years ago, and wasn't his initially caused by a wheel staying attached to the frame?
