If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Interesting but what the article does not say once the work is finished the base will close.

There are no B-1s at Fairford, based or otherwise.

Sorry I thought you were using "bace" as a misspelling of base.

No it was an attempt at humour: to 'bace' I thought I'd add some other mis-spelled and relevant terms.

So I could have put anything from 'u2', 'b1' (or b1b) and 'b2' to 'A400', 'c17', 'c5' etc. No intent to confuse, just to mildly poke fun. :)

Captain's log: "Day 55 of lockdown, and I'm beginning to fear for the crew's sanity. I'm not sure how much longer they can take"

Interesting, the unasked question is have/or are similar upgrades planned at Lakenheath and Mildenhall. Last year there was a prolonged period of cable laying on the main road outside Lakenheath going south. I don't know it's purpose/extent. In itself Fairford's upgrade would be expected for an important bases.

This is pre work for the RC-135 move over as the current data network can't handle the download traffic. It is part of a number of projects currently costed in the next few years FY budgets. Obviously subject to the assets remaining in the UK and teddy bears not being thrown on the floor. Hopeful as they wouldn't start this work and then not go there....tongue in cheek
