I agree mate and will probably be its published hours thereafter - so no more activation NOTAM's unless its open outside those times.johnwayne wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 9:19 amI'd suggest this Notam implies that the airfield is likely to be notamed open 0800-1900L weekdays at least for the coming 3 months .thevulcan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 7:05 pmFor those wondering how long the BUFFs might be here

October B52 deployment
Re: October B52 deployment
Re: October B52 deployment
Believe the B52s may have a similar mission to the U2s at fairford with the amount of support and the use of new callsigns and the new NOTAMs. USAFE keep hinting at rotations and varying aircraft numbers etc. so for those wondering how long they might be here I believe it is for a while
Also USAFE believe the bombers aren't just here for flying training "To preserve operational security, we will not confirm or discuss details of future operations".

Re: October B52 deployment
The red Fairford deployment patch with Big Ben on it is really nice - saw a pic on FB of it. Unfortunately I couldn't get down there yesterday and can't make it today either due to work. Would anyone be able to pick one up for me? I'm local to Fairford so can collect one evening, or happy to pay for postage too.James Cutting wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:16 pmTomorrow similar time - 1530L

If anyone could get any pics that would be great

Re: October B52 deployment
These are the couple I picked up yesterday Starbuck - there were a couple of other designs I believe

Thanks, I like the one with Big Ben on it, seen pics of their standard patch and a coin, someone will post pictures to Facebook later of some stuff not seen yet.

You can sometimes get them on certain receivers on Global Tuners, depending on where they are routing.

Re: October B52 deployment
Any ideas on if they are weekend flying this time? Last deployment didn’t, but is it just a case of wait for the NOTAM?
Only reason I ask is because I’m in the area tomorrow and wondered if it was worth popping over.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: October B52 deployment
If you're in the area it's worth popping over anyway, all four if not flying are easily visible from either Dunfield or Marston Meysey.

Thanks guys. Will probably venture down to see them anyhow, not everyday you have B-52s in the country.
