So much in the know that they were waiting at the end of an inactive runway, that's dedication :thumb:  .
Members of the Mushroom Club.......kept in the dark and then fed a load of BS.
Perhaps they were waiting for the GAF A400M?

Of course back in the day spotting mostly involved hanging around at airfields hoping something might come in.

I will probably go up to Marham later , now that really is a forlorn hope.

The one I posted should be fairly certain it came from an Atlas engineer

It leaves the US tomorrow night, the 14th, and arrives early-hours at Prestwick on the 15th. This was posted on the Planes, Camera, Banter Facebook group:

Code: Select all

ATLAS AIR 747
14 AUG 2019 KSZL (2155) - (0530+1) EGPK (0730) - (0845) EGVA (1145) [FERRY] - (1915) KJFK
N485MC or N473MC

Don't worry too much about the arrival.

It's the departure that is the issue. Apparently the crew are going to have a referendum on whether to leave or remain :P

"There are no B-52's based at Whiteman. Only other USAF unit operates A-10's plus there are a few T-38s with the 509BW."
So a T-38 deployment to simulate the bombers and save money? :Wow: :Wow: :ninja:

One of the above was reported as spam! But I think it is allowed as long as they are proper Butchers sausages!
