What’s viewing like at Fairford? Thinking of taking a trip down this Saturday to see if I can see much. It’s the only chance I’ll get to head down.

Also, does much head out of Brize Norton at a weekend? Might try and get two birds with one stone.

Try this link from the viewing guide section thread

http://www.pb-photos.com/maps.html

Scroll down to fairford

You will probably need to be at the western ( Marston Meysey) end and the north west side as the B-52 usually park at the west end - just follow your nose and keep turning left around the airfield

Brize is always work a visit if you haven't been there before - should get a couple of local movements

https://ffdmovements.blogspot.com/ is saying due 12:10 today but I can't see it on adsbexchange.com/VirtualRadar. I would have thought it would have been in the air by now

If that relies on multilateration for position then you would have to wait until they are in range of several data sources. None of those sources are available out over the pond. One of the frames was plotting as it went up through Canada to go oceanic.

Thanks dervish, I didn't know that. What about around the Shetlands where I read the B52 is on the Tracking thread?

Also anyone know why there is a Turkish military C130 over Northern Scotland showing on global.adsbexchange.com/VirtualRadar?

If people have reported that it's tracking on 360radar then it must be in range of enough people feeding data to that system to enable a position to be calculated.

adsbexchange.com/Virtualradar doesn't show a map for me, just a load of planes with no way of seeing whereabouts they are :S what am I doing wrong?

Anywhere from 10am like Stray 83 yesterday, or mid afternoon like today. With an ALTRV posted you'd expect they'd go into the Baltic again.

The NATO deployment is about two weeks but I think it will be longer just due to the amount of support/aircraft with more due tomorrow as well.
