FFS. So it goes. First it's 6-8 (7 then) BUFFs, then the '8' became a '9', then they're going to start arriving tomorrow, then it's 'plus three BONEs'. I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned B-2s yet. But now I have it will become 'I'm reliably informed....'.

Did I say FFS?

I've heard from the old biddy in the Spar shop round the corner that there's a couple of B-2As arriving on Friday.

On that subject do we know if they’ll be going through the loop around Saturday lunchtime as that’s the only time I can get off work? :P

OPSEC has been an issue for the USAF in the past and they are not always best pleased when their business is posted on this and other forums and on various Facebook pages.
Reading between the lines of the posts for this exercise it seems information is sparse and guesswork is rife, leaving me with the feeling that those 'in the know' have been told to be careful. :ninja:

Seems the true rumour is that the deployment is 6 x QRF-4C and a Sopwith Camel.

Exercise finishes 29 March but I suspect the 19 March press call will/may add further detail.

Does it relate to this - taken from a NATO public listing

NATO-GEORGIA EXERCISE This is the second multinational NATO-Georgia exercise, hosted by Georgia. More than 20 NATO Allies and partners, as well as international humanitarian organisations, will take part. The aim of the exercise is to improve interoperability between NATO and Georgia and educate the Georgian Armed Forces about NATO standards for collective training and exercise. This will be a computer-assisted exercise with a non-Article 5 scenario. 18 – 29 March Georgia

"if so" then that's a long daily mission, out across Europe, over Ukraine and then the Black Sea - in proximity to Russia too.

Why does it have to be a NATO exercise? I dont think we will know why there here till the Press conference.

""Why does it have to be a NATO exercise?""

You will notice I said - "Does it relate to this" and later "if so"

ie it *might* but may not - the Georgia exercise runs March 18 to 29th - *might fit - maybe*

Get off your high horse mate. I wasn't Just aiming my post at You but in reference to many people referring to NATO Exercises as the reason for the deployment.

Some of you guys need to chill. The a/c if they arrive will be around for 2-3 weeks so plenty of time to catch them. On another note if any B-2's are involved they'll more than likely only crew change at FFD before heading home and if I remember correctly there is B-2 ground support at FFD all the time so nothing would need to be flown in.

Can’t understand why the press conference isn’t until the 19th, when all the aircraft will have arrived! The rumour mill will be exhausted by then! 😁
