Funnily enough, I could see this last night - but not now.

It did not say anything new to this forum - just that the activity at the base would be more than previously, with periods of quiet in between. There were no specific details, of course, for reasons of operational security.

I managed to view it before it disappeared - thanks for posting

It did stress that 2018 was likely to be a busy year and priming the local residents to be ready for increased flying

Nice for non locals like me to be prepared for several visits this year - hopefully.

As eagle driver says "forget about that then".
I've also been looking for anything new, with a negative result.
Only this:
http://www.lechladeonthames.co.uk/wp-co ... lease..pdf
Which is same as mushbuter found. It was published last year and widely reported on FC.

Edit: Spelling as usual.

I thought the number of Fairford Exercises/Deployments for the calendar year 2018 was projected as 8? One down....7 to go !
52 weeks minus 8 (week 8) minus 2 (RIAT) minus 2 (Xmas 2018) = 40
Assume 7 Ex/Dep' each of 3 weeks duration = 21... 40 minus 21 = 19
19 divided by 7 (Xmas allowed for previously) = 2.7 (weeks of average intervals)
So by that analysis, it's already gone Sir Pete Tong & this is no more use to us than the invisible OP.
Maybe it was Fiscal Year?... or 8 events was lies?...or :ninja:

Not sure 8 has ever been mentioned officially and it is probably wishful thinking.

In an official press release as part of the USAF 2019 budget there are interesting budget details for Fairford including $106M in storage and munitions facilities. This comes from the Department of Defence budget request press release http://comptroller.defense.gov/Portals/ ... 019_c1.pdf with more details here http://www.saffm.hq.af.mil/FM-Resources/Budget/ and here http://www.saffm.hq.af.mil/Portals/84/d ... 173403-060

In the Navy element of the budget request it includes $79M P-8 Base Improvements for Lossiemouth details here http://www.secnav.navy.mil/fmc/fmb/Docu ... N_Book.pdf

Last year (june) I was chatting to some USAF personal and they said to me that there was a need to move to bomb dumps closer to the aircraft and that they needed more hard standing at fairford ready for "continuous operations" at fairford in the future, I will also share the fact that these guys were Hoping to get "posted to fairford in the next few years" read into that what you Will, I would also like to say I'm not posting this information to be shot down or ridiculed this is part of a conversation I had with them and not fact until it happens.

I would also like to say that the wording in the budget states " this project is in support of the European detterance initiative (EDI) this initiative includes military training and exercises on land, in the air and AT sea whilst maintaining a rotational presence in europe " the completion date for the work is stated as 2021/22 when fairford will be active again permantly.

So, hot rumour #4097.... I'm guessing that's just 4 more RIAT events until the post-911 security mentality makes the location untenable? :halo:
Always remember during Pub-talk that 'Ears have Walls', according to dyslexic security commentators.

Great endorsement in the Bible too. 'Walls of Jericho' is mentioned several times! Also noteworthy is the son of God drove a Honda, it's written 'that Jesus did in his own Accord...' ;)

Biblically The Angels of The Lord (USAF), very large meteors (no fallout - Hush Hush new tech) destroyed a large city, "So_am and Go mor" elsewhere? (RiAT). But where after RIAT's tenancy ends in 4 years, derelict Mildenhall before development? Very hot rumour #4098.

Hi Supra.

Your calculation from Feb 18 could be wrong when there is more than one deployment at the same time.
Maybe some deployments don't last 3 but 2 weeks and there are 6 spaces between 7 deployments.
Then the intervals between deployments are longer :).
