I think that was the flightcheck aircraft that just landed rather than the B52. Might be wrong though.

The bad weather is currently over southern Ireland. Heavy rain with wind speeds around 30kts , moving in a south easterly direction.

Expect the crew wanted "gas n go" to get home today. But weather needs to be OK for all phases of flight, including destination airfield and diversion options whilst on the way.

Whilst I've seen the serial reported, for completeness 61-0018 does not carry a tail code or fin tip stripe.

Cheers, Tom

Weather conditions all the way down the North Atlantic from Iceland to Northern Spain appear to be getting worse .

61-0018 hasn't been reported in the UK before and is the 77th B-52H known to have visited Fairford.

I can hear B-52 engines running now. Not sure if testing or getting ready to fly.
