There are 3000 odd members, not exactly a select few. As far as I know, pretty much everyone that asks to join is accepted.Al dunn wrote:It's a Facebook page which only a select few people have access to

Re: More buffs heading to Fairford
So just to clarify, you are both members on here and the PCB FB page but relish in the fact that the FB page gets info up to 24 hours ahead of this forum. That means that members only on here may miss something. If that is the case then not very friendly to FC members is it?
If not the case maybe you could clarify and I apologise in advance for any slur cast

Re: More buffs heading to Fairford
No slur I have tried posting several times but everytime I get shot down hence I don't bother anymore but anybody is welcome to join PCB for the same info

Re: More buffs heading to Fairford
Over the last 20 or so years, I've only ever noticed the same few sources of base gossip but the internet helps it spread faster and makes it easier for people who aren't local to find out.
I'm guessing PCB is related to the stickers that've been stuck on some of the gate posts around the base?

Re: More buffs heading to Fairford
I mainly use this group and I don't get the feeling I am missing anything
Is PCB mainly fairford / Brize orientated? If so it's not necessary to know the exact date that a B-1 will turn up in advance as they normally stay for a week or two - just wait and they get reported. Plus people post excellent notam information on this site which gives you nearly every thing you need.
The fairford spotters public face book group is open to browse and has pretty up-to-date information.
There are so many separate groups and information 'silos' , at least FC tries to cover all mil every where - keep up the good work.

That's what it's all about getting as many people the info as possible to see the things they wanna see, unfortunately a few people have forced me to keep it to my group I would love to share it elsewhere but it's not worth the hassle.

Re: More buffs heading to Fairford
It wasn't "guff" - it was a valid question about sharing of information within the hobby. If you don't consider that important well that says a lot.
To Cornish - exactly what I was trying to emphasise.
