Very nice 68-10337 back on the deck at Fairford

Quite a while since I have been at Fairford when a U-2 has landed.

Love the count down from the chase car - 8 6 2 1 foot etc and then "article plus 2 ( cars) clear of the active"

Massive thanks to everyone for the heads up and info today.
Needed 5 out of the 6 and made it in time for the U-2 returning. Only the second time I’ve seen one land. :thumb:

Hi all, are these active? I’ve seen nothing showing movement. Just wondering about a trip from Sussex. Thanks. Martin

No B52 movement. Pax flight landed this morning and still there. No NOTAM currently.

NAVAREA I 123
WESTERN BALTIC SEA. Kattegat. Charts GB 2108 and GB 259 (INT 120).
1. Military and air defence exercises in progress from 31 Aug to 07 Sep 20 in area bounded by: 56-45N , 53-49N, 016-00E and 009-30E.

2. Aircraft, surface and subsurface vessels will participate, and exercise mines maybe be laid and recovered.
Military vessels may manoeuvre erratically and operate with navigation lights or AIS. Vessels are requested to navigate with caution, to keep clear of all naval ships and to pay attention to the shown signals.
During this exercise Naval Cooperation and Guidance to shipping (NCAGS) will be used to interact with merchant shipping and requests maybe made to participate.

Additional information may be provided by co-ordinating warships or via email: DEUNAVYNCAGSGEREX@BUNDESWEHR.ORG

60-0044/MT
60-0056/MT

Looking at my photos from Sunday the "Boss" bird carries the 69th BS Red & Black chequered fin band, the other 5 all carried the 23rd BS Red & Yellow "Barons" fin band.

The 69th BS has a yellow fin stripe - at least they have when on previous visits.

Looking at photos from the 69th BS visit in Jan 2018 they certainly had the yellow fin band with "Knighthawks" other than 60-0005 which was wearing the current red & black band..... perhaps this is unique to the "Boss" bird :S

My photo of 005 in the other section might suggests it's marked as belonging to the 5th BW rather than the 23rd BS?
