RAF Welford has seen an increase in logistic movments for the last six weeks .....had a feeling a deployment was on the cards.
Great to see these big birds again!

Is it likely that the more knowledgable guys on here will know when they are on route, and arrival dates and times?
I now live in Cirencester and have joined this forum since moving here, I have followed the b-52 since I was a child so I'm very exited about this and any info would be amazing as I'm new to forum
Many thanks
Roll on June!
Im sure there will be plenty of info on here when they are on the way and during ops. :thumb:

Can anyone advise on where the best/convenient place is to park without causing any annoyance to the locals and USAF?

When I have preiviously visited Fairford I have parked at the end of R27 but you may still get moved on. :)

I would imagine the place will be crawling with both spotters like us and Police alike, could be interesting trying to find a spot...but we'll try ;)
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Last time there was a B-52 deployment, people parked up at the 09 end. If you drive through Marston Meysey and take the sharp left as you leave the village, there is (was?) room to park along the grass verge on the road. You can then walk back up the fenceline pretty much to the threshold of 09.

If this is no longer correct, someone please feel free to correct me!

Depends if they wish to enforce the double yellow lines they painted after Iraq 2003?
Kind regards. Stu. H

I seem to remember a road at the 09 end that takes you past the buildings RIAT use and into the fields that use to be used for the park and view, is that road out of bounds or can you park down there?

Ever thought that "seven" simply misunderstood/misread your query?

This, along with t'other one in General Chat, should be merged with the main one in the Fairford section IMO.

Going by the quiet hours issued Dean, no, not unless necessary.

From the 'quiet hours' which Robin has posted, unlikely:
Contingency personnel will adhere to the posted quiet hours whenever possible (Monday to Thursday 23:00 each evening to 06:00 the following morning, and weekends from 18:00 Friday evening until 06:00 Monday morning). However there may be some occasions where operational necessity may require them to operate outside of these published hours.
