Are they hot-pitting now?
No, as per previous posts the aircraft that was up today went tech on landing. Doubt they will frame change but we can dream.

Understand she shut down following 'smoke at back end' issues so the answers 'no'

No. All quiet and no sign of covers coming off. Think that is then done for the night

Can confirm 86-0103 was emitting smoke upon reaching 09 end, taxied off runway and sat for a while whilst fire service inspected before taxying to parking spot under it's own power.

I wonder if the powers-that-be suspected that -103 could be problematic during the deployment, hence the offloading of an engine spare from one of the first support flights?

According to someone on Twitter this frame was used for the press/VIP day and was reportedly showing some signs of wear + tear (fuel/hydraulic leaks)

.....so they sent it over the Atlantic non-stop with 4 POB? That'd make a great accident report.

It was smoking from left engine going past on aborted landing and turning off runway was more smoke

Wasn't an aborted departure because it never intended to depart - it was giving an incentive ride around the aerodrome.

Had a '01' call 277.625 off 282.125 at 14.12 at FL260. "Continue present heading" was all he gave but that frequency change usually means IOM area to SWB. Now down to FL150.
Routing was MARGO>SHAPP>BARTN>NANTI>BRIZE
In case they use the same return routing again , here's an animation showing the track back
