Thanks for the info Graham.luxto wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 12:25 pmSeparation was about 30 seconds - No2 waits for the one ahead to lift then it starts its take off roll. A MITO, as performed by Buffs in practise alerts in the US for example, are about half of that and they are not conducted in the UK. Vectoring by Brize was probably to allow them to rejoin as a flight and to position them to enter the Daventry corridor at the correct Flight Levels.
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Thanks Luxto.
For anyone interested, MITO is (now?) a high-risk departure reserved for nuclear alert scrambles by B-52, B-2, and KC-135.

For the place they’re almost certainly flying around today they’ll have IPs onboard who’ll be cleared for 15-20kt crosswind components.wessexspotter wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 12:16 pmAre we sure they'll be returning to FFD today? Proper breeze here ATM.

Re: Movements 19/10/2021
Couple of serious rumbles (not my stomach this time) from direction of base towards town in the last hour. Poss B-1 engine runs I presume.

Re: Movements 19/10/2021
Perhaps wanting a higher altitude for fuel etc? FL140 for the Lichfield RC as opposed to FL100/110 for the Daventry RC?
