Bombers don't normally travel in groups. If they attempt to come over the atlantic as anything other than singletons it's likely to need an oceanic ATLRV (or as OAT). I suspect it'll be singletons at 30 minute intervals.

Any chance of a webcam, found one a few days ago with weather at EGVA, and an overvieuw to the west (AB), but wasn't able to find it back?
Any guess for routing to exersize airspace, poss. over the Netherlands?
living in south of the country, underneath TB-6 route :-)

Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob, when the B-1B's were here in 1997, they tended to take one handover from FFD to LMIL, and depart to Dutchmil at FL 100 for transit into northern europe, all within a fairly short time after departure. Whether the speed or different climb rate will affect them much who knows. Sure some of those lucky people on the spot will soon be letting us know !

Regards, Jes.

I've seen them in formations upto 8 aircraft in the past inbound Fairford overhead Worcester, with about 6 plane lengths between them :thumb:
Is it necessary to have a Notam for a flight of aircraft?
There would be if they were refueling!
Time will tell I guess :)
Kind regards. Stu. H

Hi Guys, probably a tad impossible to answer but, do those with contacts know when the C5 may be departing FFD.
Cheers

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

I live in Worcester and In 35 years of watching the skies daily I have never seen a "formation" of up to 8 B-52's in that close a proximity to each other heading south over Worcester to Fairford, the most I have ever seen at once was way back in October 1981, and that was 4 D's inbound to I think Brize, and they were a few minutes apart, other than that I have seen a pair of H's doing circuits dumping fuel for about 30 minutes back in the 90's during Operation Allied Force, the only other times I have seen B-52's over Worcester they were single ships! Any way I'm hoping to get down there myself at some point to have a look at the Buff's, it will be just like old times during the Central Enterprise deployments we used to get in June, great stuff!

During Allied Force and the Gulf 2, i had 8 Buffs come over here with about 1 mile separation fully laden.... the last being Rattler flight. As usual they went down to Lands End and around Portugal for the first few weeks until France/Germany opened their airspace up (it usually takes them a few weeks to do so).
Not so lucky this time, as they'll just head up through the corridors and over the North Sea.
