Looks like he got direct Fairford as he crossed the coast, wouldn't have been close enough to see him.

At 2,700 ft south of Cirencester heading towards Fairford (AE095E seen on ADSB at about 16:22). Must have landed on 09 at about 16:25.

Under the right (wrong) atmospheric conditions do the Dragon Lady's trail the same as other jets? Could this show their position whilst trying to remain out of sight.?

They have a rear view mirror just outside the left of the cockpit which they can use to check if they are contrailing and adjust their height accordingly when they don't want to.

Thanks Sam. Hoping to catch one coming Leicestershire way one day. FWIW I do have a photo of a U-2 fuselage section taken when I visited the Beale AFB show around 1999.
