Just found this it gives dates
WHAT IS SABER STRIKE?

Saber Strike is a long-standing U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise designed to improve joint interoperability through a range of missions that prepare the 13 participating nations to support multinational contingency operations. The exercise - taking place from May 27-June 22 in multiple locations throughout Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - serves as an effective proving ground for units to validate their ability to assemble rapid-reaction forces and deploy them on short notice where needed.

Saber Strike 16 features allied and partner-nation ground forces conducting live-fire, command post, and cyber/electronic warfare training, plus the integration of U.S. close-air support with multinational ground forces. Leading up to the exercise, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment will demonstrate U.S. land forces' dynamic presence throughout the region, exhibiting freedom of movement during a 2,200-kilometer tactical road march, called Dragoon Ride II, from Germany to Estonia.

Participating nations this year include Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Anyone going to stick there neck out and hazard a guess as to whats coming and when.....?

Looks like B52 (s) i guess..... i`m thinking the personnel on the 747 will need a few days to prepare say 3 or 4??? But arrivals over bank holiday???

Also i`m wondering if the B2`s may do what they did last year, was it global power mission? Basically flew over a few nights in a row maybe a repeat?? Or dare i mention B-1`s LOL!!

There will be aircraft at Fairford this coming weekend, there is a noise waver in place to allow aircraft movement during the quiet hours, see below

Please also note that there will be airfield operations overnight during the bank holiday night of 30 - 31 May, which is outside of the published quiet hours. A quiet waiver has been approved for these aircraft operations

Also; the 'what' is irrelevant to an extent. It's the 'when' we need to nail!

Not sure where the announcement says anything about aircraft operations this weekend, it does however mention a "quiet waiver" for 30/31 May (Monday night into Tuesday), I wonder if its the "bunch of idiot councillors" who misunderstood the 501st press release this time?

To save anyone going back to the thread where it was posted, this is the part that refers to quiet hours.

Flight operations will adhere to the posted quiet hours whenever possible (Monday to Thursday 23:00 each evening to 06:00 the following morning, and weekends from 18:00 Friday evening until 06:00 Monday morning). However there may be some occasions where operational necessity may require them to operate outside of these published hours.

Please also note that there will be airfield operations overnight during the bank holiday night of 30 - 31 May, which is outside of the published quiet hours. A quiet waiver has been approved for these aircraft operations.

Does not look like anything is happening this weekend!

Have seen many B1s come in an depart Fairford via Dikas even on sorties. Once Cardiff airport helped a B1 crew out with an issue, it flew low over Aberdare and dumped fuel over the Bristol channel , the next day that crew did a low overshoot at Cardiff as a thank you ;-)

As the aircraft in question was a 747-481F i.e purely a freighter I would say there weren't any personnel on board, not in any great number anyway. Most likely a personnel flight will follow in due course.

Ah mean from that statement i guess something is planned to arrive possibly, and it kind of ties in with the early landing of the cargo plane...... i guess a personnel flight would be next as in before the weekend surely?? Also no bank holiday in US i guess? Just a normal Monday......

*clutches straws hopefully* *curses work commitments tuesday*

Memorial day is on Monday 30 May. But the announced quiet hours waiver would suggest something arriving late Monday early Tuesday
