I like von_tippenhopf comment "overhead Cirencester, look lost". Reminds me I have had a U2 (some years ago in poor weather) and US C17 just before RIAT low over my bungalow both looking as if lost. Must be something about Cirencester!!

Only reason you'd go there isn't it? ;)

Anyone hoping to see the B-1 and B-52 active may want to visit Fairford tomorrow...

From SamP's Ample Strike participant time chart (above), I would estimate FFD departure around 9.30am BST on Sunday.
Assuming:
1. Chart is in local time, +1 hour BST.
2. Aircraft arrive at time stated on chart.
3. Flying time estimated at 2:1/2 Hours

I read the table as saying:

Departure 13:00 Arrival 15:00

and assumed that meant a 13:00 departure from Fairford and a 15:00 arrival on task. Czech local time, as you say.

From that I was expecting more like an 11:00 or 12:00 departure time from Fairford UK time?

Take your point SamP. The word "Odlet" translates to "departure".
So you are quite probably correct :thumb:

Yeah that's what I'm basing it off of, although I know how you mis-read it as you would expect the table to have a time on task and a time off task.

I did, that's exactly as I read it :halo:
My Czech Is not that good, well, non-existent.

Whilst field to field distances may not be that useful in an air exercise, it still appears to be around 1,000miles, just 2hours allowed may seem to be a bit tight. But 15.00 local on task could be an estimate.
As you suggest, FFD departure before 13.00 BST would seem likely.

More from SamP's Chart (on this page at 10.18 pm Saturday):
http://www.lznamest.army.cz/letova-aktivita

Odlet= Departure Přílet= Arrival Oblast pohybu=Region (in this case about 50miles direct south of Prague to about 50miles north of the Austrian border) Poznámka= Notes (Height - 5 at 7KM?)

All times quoted assumed to be Czech = BST +1

Tomorrow's list is up. B-1 is on there but down as "REMOTE" as opposed to Fairford. Any ideas?

Maybe going on a navigation exercise before going to Czech, so deploying from anywhere you fancy... Fairford departure could be anytime!

To me that just reads as coming in from a 'Remote' location, instead of it saying Fairford. The 'motion area' is still down as Bechyně, which is the same area the bombers went on today's FAMEX.

It could be due to it launching on a Nav Ex first, or it could just be that someone different has composed the table for the day and has a slightly different style of doing things.

Regards the expected departure of 1 x B1 and 1 x B52 for the NATO days at Ostrava. The USAF Press release here states that both aircraft are expected to participate between13th and 19th September.

http://www.usafe.af.mil/News/Article-Di ... le-strike/

and the NATO Days News Item here states that both aircraft are arriving on 13th September

http://www.natodays.cz/news/usaf-to-sea ... y-the-b-1b

So, if unchanged, 13/9 will be a good day (probably early on) to see both depart - and between now and 12/9 are best opportunities to see departures and arrivals for the exercise.
