Weather permitting, 11am ETA? I'm keen to see them land, but don't have a lot of spare time so trying to narrow the window...

127 hasn't been to Fairford before which makes it the 50th B-1B to visit so far.

86-0127 is wearing the black tail stripe and white bat of 9th BS. I assume the badge is also 9th BS (although I can't see it clearly enough on the photos).

85-0089 is wearing the badge of 489th BG and I assume that the red/yellow check tail stripe is theirs as well (28th BS one is blue/white check).

Tail badge appears to be that of US Global Strike Command.

Graham, thanks for the excellent information. This kind of thread (and your contributions to them in particular) form a record which is read back by site visitors after the event. A thread that tracks an aircraft flight and arrival is incomplete without landing and aircraft details.

Graham, I don't think 86-0127 has ever been to the UK before.

Thanks Shuck, I haven't checked all those which have diverted into or used Mildenhall over the last decade so you may be right.

The 489 BG is the AFRC unit parented by the 307 BW at Barksdale but is based at Dyess. The 345 BS is the operating unit within the 489th. Complicated or what!

Have a look at http://www.307bw.afrc.af.mil/Units.aspx

Cheers, Tom
