Everyone needs to be patient and just wait and see, when info of arrivals is known it will be posted. It's not going to be today, and if last year is anything to go by we could see the B52s in tomorrow and the B2s in over the weekend, but that's just an educated guess.
Going by your post you're very sure that there will be B-52's and B-2's in attendence, can you confirm this?

In the thread SamP asks people not to speculate then goes and does exactly that himself by mentioning aircraft types.

Unless anyone has concrete info can everyone stop posting aircraft types and numbers involved until the wheels hit the tarmac.

When these boys leave the US, what is the earliest point they are likely to be picked up on comms?

Radio checks with Red River on HF, sometimes when they are still on the ground. :thumb:
After that it will be with Gander, then Shanwick on HF.

Whilst I appreciate your point, I try my best not to post any speculation.

Although it has not yet been reported in this thread, it is known that the support aircraft arrived from Minot and Whiteman.

Therefore given all the facts we currently have, and following the events of last year, I think its safe to say we will see B-52s and B-2s.

I think most people are trying their best to make this as easy as possible.
If someone makes a statement 'this and that are coming' and then they don't show, it wouldn't go down very well would it.
Relatively speaking we all have an enormous amount of information here that most people would find staggering.

I personally only had it confirmed yesterday, and didn't get a chance to post it. Before then it was just another rumour, and we don't need any more of those posted...

I (like many others) are watching this thread with great interest although the speculation does start to grate a little. I saw a group of people yesterday wearing Malstrom Fire Dept tshirts whilst crossing over to the accommodation blocks- Does this mean we will see a GLCM deployment (I don't think so)..... I guess we should all just be happy with whatever we get to see regardless, it is nice to see the base being put to greater in use and with some activity. I will now go back to my hole and carefully get back under that rock

Tim, it will probably be easier to use WebSDR for Gander/Shanwick, if you don't have your own radio. Gander will probably use 8864/11279/8891 with a chance of 5616/8831 as well. Shanwick should be 5649/6622/6547 and 8879. Another possibility is 10021. i am sure somebody will post the frequency on the forum.

Gander inform the aircraft of the oceanic frequencies to use, but it may be different depending on what oceanic track they are assigned to, also the frequency to contact Shanwick, I think. This principally applies to civil, but that is most of the traffic anyway.

Gander live on:
http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=cyyt&icao=cyyt

But seems to lower level, but heard US tankers and chicks.

Shanwick:
http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=einn_high

Reach flights clearly identified by the callsign.

Some come through Scottish control and you can't get that on liveatc.net. (illegal in the UK).

Liveatc seems to be tuned to what amounts to a scanner on multiple frequencies, so you only here one at once as the scanner locks on.

Just tried websdr , for the first time as magnum suggested:

http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/?tune=6547usb live voice on Shanwick with frequencies relayed over.

You have to get over the Java problem first on websdr, follow the instructions.

If that helps anybody.

You can use HTML5 instead of java. Top right above the waterfall to select it. Java is a pain.

Thanks for that magnum, I did try that . I use Internet Explorer, so HTML5 does not work. But you only have to do the java permission thing once, did take three attempts though!
