Lots of talk about x9 B-52's x3 B-2's and x2 B-1b's coming in for deployment. How true is this ?

The most I think we'll see is 3-4 B-52s and 2x B-2s.

Not seen or read about any support tankers for the exercise, so was doing a bit of googling. There's a patch on EBay for 171st ARS involvement in Sabre (Saber) Strike. Looks like they might be operating out of Riga IAP? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USAF-Patch-17 ... 5b12461dc2

If anyone know where you can still get hold of the 171st ARS Saber Strike 14 patch, let me know

127 ARW and 171 ARW were both scheduled for Rigga.

There have also recently been two KC-135s at Vilnius Airport, I don't know what the serials or markings were though

There's no way the base will see anything more than 2 B-2's.

The special hangar is only capable of storing 2 anyway.

I would give an arm and a leg to see B-1's at the base, but I suspect that won't happen either unfortunately. I would imagine they would try and keep aircraft types down to stop the amount of logistics and equipment required being too much.

I would hazard a guess and say it will be very similar to what happened last year. 3 B-52's and 2 B-2's. Lovely!

You do realise Fairford is an operational military airbase and not Tesco, don't you?

The poster is probably referring to the fact during the presidential visit they opened a car park at the bomb dump... This is the only time in many years I've known this happen, so unlikely to happen this time.

Obviously the F117 comment was a joke. Could we please refrain from such comments, it does nothing for the thread.

Everyone needs to be patient and just wait and see, when info of arrivals is known it will be posted. It's not going to be today, and if last year is anything to go by we could see the B52s in tomorrow and the B2s in over the weekend, but that's just an educated guess.
