I believe as a rule almost all if not all airports take off and land into the wind.Luketurfrey1 wrote:big john wrote:Notam for today's action

Re: F35 flypast
Yeah I was just wondering which direction the wind was blowing, with take off from 09 end and departing over 27 being ideal!ChrisCwmbran wrote:I believe as a rule almost all if not all airports take off and land into the wind.Luketurfrey1 wrote:big john wrote:Notam for today's action

Re: F35 flypast
The wind seems to be from the WSW at the moment so I think you are probably in luck.
Errr correction. I think they will head from the bomb dump end into the wind.

Thought it was too good to be true! Photos from 09 end are never the best..ChrisCwmbran wrote:The wind seems to be from the WSW at the moment so I think you are probably in luck.

Assuming they use reheat of course, as they certainly won't need it!

One presumes they don't even need a runway if they don't want either!seven wrote:Assuming they use reheat of course, as they certainly won't need it!

...anyway, both departed smack on time heading west using the full runway, incidentally 15mins previously a Jumbo landed, now unloading goods where the Buff's usually sit.
Re: F35 flypast
They do need reheat for that though IIRCChrisCwmbran wrote:One presumes they don't even need a runway if they don't want either!seven wrote:Assuming they use reheat of course, as they certainly won't need it!
