F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Hi Guys
Wasn't too sure where to put this link which shows some stunning video of the F35's coming across from the US. Hope it is ok to put it here ?
Well worth waiting for, as I am sure you will agree - enjoy the 3minutes 18 seconds of footage
P.S. The video in the middle of the screen is better quality than the 1 nearer the top

The left hand 'B2' hangar has been opened, so F-35Bs in the right side and F-35As in the left hand hangar.

Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Tanker held a circuit over Tewkesbury and an almighty roar of jets just hammered over Cheltenham from the west...
Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Did the second batch of F35s arrive with 'clean 81?
Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Of course, you can't see the "Heads Up" section yet - as you need to have made 5 posts before you can.
Yes, the 3 x F-35A ("TABOR31/32/33") and their KC-10A "CLEAN81" arrived this evening. First, the F-35s did an echelon port "run and break" and landed all within 3 minutes. Then the KC-10 landed a few minutes later.
Serials of the F-35As are 12-5042/5052/5058 (all "LF" tail codes of 56FW) respectively and the KC-10A was 83-0077 with a "Travis" tailband (60AMW).

Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Were they separate from the Tanker as I'm assuming the unholy racket over Cheltenham was them whilst the '10 was circling over Tewkesbury -nothing else was about
Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Yep. You assume correctly. Was reported in the "Heads Up" thread - which, I see, you can't access yet either.
Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Thanks Bob, your "heads up" is appreciated.
You are spot on, as a 'rookie' to FC I don't have access to the heads up area. Again, thanks for the details.

All,
Not really sure where to post this question as a 'rookie', but this seems the logical thread.
Do we know if the RAF F35 will remain in the UK after RIAT?
Thanks, Imac

I think the reply to that one is no, it will go back Stateside after the airshowsImac wrote:All,

Re: F-35s to Fairford discussion thread
Nope just the F35's and USMC C130.

Thanks Teejay.
Looks like I need to try and get down that way early part of next and hopefully catch them in the flesh as they say.
Do we know if they will be flying in the lead up week to RIAT?
As you may see I am not yet allowed in to the 'heads up' section. Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks, Imac
