B-1b deployment ?
Re: B-1b deployment ?
they may not be stealthy as such but as far as I know B-1B's give a relatively small radar return?
Re: B-1b deployment ?
Do they really need to be anything like Stealthy for use against IS
The more shock & awe the better I would have thought for this task.
Back On topic - If it all kicks off maybe fairford will become a staging post for frames on the way out or back.

I doubt it really considering Bones pass us by regularly being refuelled off to the south west!
Re: B-1b deployment ?
We can but hope.
Remember when they were actively deployed here for was it Bosnia or maybe GW1
Seeing a flight launch at Night with full bomb loads, Quite a spectacle to see & Feel

May have been Kosovo 1999 sounds about right.

Re: B-1b deployment ?
Kosovo it was. B-1B's present Thurs 1st April - Thurs 24th June'99. The 28thBW maintained a combat force of 5 B-1's here but with rotations used a total of 9 a/c over the period.
Shot hours of video including their arrival on a very misty morning on the 1st April when the first one in nearly landed on the R09 underrun!

A cynic would ask whether what counts as an exercise to you means the same to "them"......
