B52's have just taken off from RAF Fairford Friday 20th at 6am.

Thank you all for your information over the last 2-3 weeks. Looking forward to RIAT. Contrary to what you may have thought I do really like the aircraft being at Fairford, as RIAT is the biggest and best airshow in the world. It really does show what British organisation can do.

Was a very early start today but well worth it, maybe got a bit too close at 09 end. Ears are now ringing

Not a bad morning, up at 3.30, on the road at 4.00, arrive at Fairford, see three B52's leave and sat in my office at 7.30. Well worth it! How often is an etd so accurate?

Cheers

Here's some film I did from the 09 end at Fairford of KC135 QUID 70 and B52's DOOM 11/12 on Monday 16th June 2014. I'll also add a link to some photos later.

What a mental departure time and hope it was worth the effort for those that made it. When the Buffs deployed regularly during the 80s they seldom if ever commenced missions before 7.00am and then departures were always scheduled for the more civilised time of mid morning. So much for them always keeping bankers hours then.........

As far as I know ,I haven't heard them on tower all day ,so I can be fairly certain that they are both still there.
I assume these are the c-17 that arrived last night and the c-5 .
