Oh dear, that’ll keep the local constabulary busy along Whelford road.

Has anyone seen the planning application for when and where yellows are painted?
Doesn't affect me as I'm well up North.

What is the parking situation around Fairford now? Admittedly (apart from RIAT), it's been a few years since I was down that neck of the woods. Is Dunfield still accessible ?
The last time I spent a day there was in June 1995 when the 2ndBW Buffs shared the place with Cannon Varks. That was at the Marston Meysey crash gate and Dunfield. :)

Both those gates were fine last month and have been for ages. Today I am in a very quiet (except for quarry lorries) Washpool Lane at the 27 end. There is a decent view of four Turkish F-16s and the 135 if you walk along the pavement to a vantage point with a long lens and two steps of your ladder.

Okay cheers for that, I'm thinking of having a run down there either Monday or Tuesday weather permitting.

Does anyone know the current roadworks situation on the A417 (around Birdlip)? It was a nightmare last Summer.

Have you tried the map on one.network website? It's a bit involved but should give chapter and verse.

Sill on going. I think it's due to finish early 2027. There are rerouting the A417 and making it a duel carriageway.

I'm not sure how bad the traffic is day to day around Birdlip but if you are traveling on the M5 you could carry on to junction 13 and take the A419 through Stroud and on to Cirencester, then across to Fairford.

Thanks for that guys. In that case then it might suit me better to shoot down the A429 from the M40 (J 15), going past Wellsbourne airfield, links direct to the 417. Cheers. :thumb:
