Interpreting Fairford NOTAM's can sometimes be like being on the Krypton Factor . I take it this means [in layman's terms] that the aerodrome is closed today from 0600 to 1800 [i.e. its published normal opening hours I believe ] .However between 0730 and 1630 the aerodrome is available at one hours notice for emergency aircraft only . Any 'boff' able to confirm/contradict this interpretation ? Either way a bit of an odd one - difficult to read into this the underlying reasons triggering this NOTAM and what circumstances they're aiming to cover . Suppose it gives us Fairford enthusiasts something to ponder during the long gaps between movements . :S

It likely means they are doing some work on the runway or tower and need 1 hour to clear the works and make the airfield available again.

Most aircraft don’t have 1 hours notice of an emergency so I wouldn’t expect any movements.
