Hi everyone
Any of you guys suggest the best place to park up to watch a departure or arrival of the U2 at Fairford?... I have this opportunity in the coming week.
Had a look yesterday evening but just saw yellow lines and no parking sign.
Would really like to see a take off and landing ...any help would be very much appreciated.
Regards.

Where to Park
Re: Where to Park
Park in Washpool Lane but keep the car close to the fence side. The double yellow lines end as the road goes straight.
There are a lot of HGVs going up and down so don't park that will cause them problems.

Neil

Park in Kempsford village and walk along whelford road
Re: Where to Park
The Police have been moving people on from Washpool Lane this week but this may be due to the increase in parking as there have been more movements than usual. For a usual U2 only day it might be OK.
Safest would be to park in Kempsford and walk (please don't park on the bike path along side the base - really annoys us locals!)

Re: Where to Park
Have they introduced some legally enforceable parking restrictions then. e.g. yellow lines or no waiting cones.kevanm wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:00 pmThe Police have been moving people on from Washpool Lane this week but this may be due to the increase in parking as there have been more movements than usual. Re: Where to Park
Not that I saw today. Parked on Washpool lane for a few hours this morning without any issues, watched the A330 and U2 arrive. Only 2 or 3 other cars there.stubb33 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:09 pmHave they introduced some legally enforceable parking restrictions then. e.g. yellow lines or no waiting cones.kevanm wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 4:00 pmThe Police have been moving people on from Washpool Lane this week but this may be due to the increase in parking as there have been more movements than usual.
