The U2’s are more or less on permanent detachment, the B1’s are temporary for an upcoming exercise.

Since Thursday thread locked. Spicy41/42 filed flight plan. Same routing as yesterdays lot. If not interception should be evening arrival

What are the odds on the B1's still being around on the 23rd June. That's the earliest date I can book off work.

Could well be a broken one or two at Fairford then? Not that I or anybody else of the Public knows either way!
Flicker of hope for you is that Defender 23 is scheduled to run until 24th June.

I do not think they would be there still. Air Tattoo usually gets the “keys to the site” around that date and start building ready for the airshow so having B-1s there would be disruptive for both parties.csnewton2701 wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 12:15 pmWhat are the odds on the B1's still being around on the 23rd June. U-2's are at fairford while the riat build process is undertaken each year so it is possible.

They will be gone by RIAT, never known a bomber to stay for the show & gives the opportunity for the other air crew to get to the UK.

I think bombers have flown on weekends before. If they don’t, at least you will get all 4 on the ground.Euangray12 wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 11:38 amSince Thursday thread locked. Spicy41/42 filed flight plan. Same routing as yesterdays lot. If not interception should be evening arrival

Seeing them fly doesn't bother me. I've never seen one before so just to get a photograph I'd be happy with.

Re: B-1 arrival Discussion.
I've seen B-1s flying missions on a Saturday during the October/November deployment in 2021, and I think that they did it more than once so it's definitely not impossible.
Re: B-1 arrival Discussion.
They certainly have flown at weekends on occasions- Cosford even managed to secure flypasts by both B-1 And B-52 on their returns one year
Re: B-1 arrival Discussion.
Nothing heard, will be a case of waiting to see if any tanker support get airborne. Would have to depart soon or already departed to meet their slot.

Is 86-0125 a new frame over here or has it visited before?

As already pointed out on a FB group if visitors to Fairford block entrances to fields park on verges and roam across farmers fields ,they will find themselves extremely unwelcome. Show some respect.

At the Marston end on Thursday pretty much everyone parked on the grass on the side of the lane. There's nothing wrong with that. Even a visit from the police confirmed that everyone was OK. I think most people are aware of public footpaths and bridleways.

"nothing wrong with that" - provided the base can get a crash tender past.PeteHemsley wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 9:59 amAt the Marston end on Thursday pretty much everyone parked on the grass on the side of the lane.
