Current Frequency checks

Post by gnirtS » Wed Feb 09, 2022 12:20 am

Trying to reconfigure the scanner as i suspect i have a mix of old/new and incomplete frequencies for F'Ford so wondering if someone can help.

Currently i have:-

339.700 - Fairford Ground
246.450 - Fairford Tower
246.350 - Fairford Tower NEW
124.800 - Fairford App
134.550 - Fairford App
240.550 - Fairford Radar

277.775 - Fairford
270.050 - Fairford
261.000 - Fairford BAT
241.450 - Fairford BAT

Are any of these now defunct and safe to remove and are there any current ones im missing (ATC and/or Ops?)

321.0 has been used in the past as B-52 Bomber Ops during deployments

I second this, thanks. very useful indeed would it be worth making this a permanent sticky thread that can be updated every so often?

Is there a best way of storing these in a scanner, eg should they be in numerical order or doesn't it matter. Thank you

Ascending numerical order would make it easier for the scanner instead of jumping back and forth through the frequency range, not sure how much difference it actually makes in practice though.
Also easier to find a specific frequency when flicking through manually that way

ATIS = Automatic Terminal Information Service - Broadcasts aerodrome information, current meteorological conditions, runway in use.
CAC = Centralised Approach Control - in the case of Fairford, this is handled by controllers at Brize Norton.
PMSV = Pilot-to-Meteorological Service.

Hi all,

trying to get some frequencies for Fairford and this thread came up. Can anyone confirm whether this list I've put together (from various sources) is any good?

Zone 119.000
Grd 121.175
Grd 121.800
Approach 122.100
Radar 124.275
Tower 124.800
Approach 127.250
Director 133.750
Approach 231.950
Grd 234.250
Tower 246.350
Radar 278.350
Grd 339.700
Approach 362.300
Radar 389.575
Director 399.025

Any help much appreciated :thumb:

119.000 is Brize Zone, Fairford traffic doesn't tend to use this frequency.

122.100 for Approach, I don't think this is correct. Brize handle approaches, normally on Director 133.750 or 399.025 before handing over to Fairford Tower.

127.250 and 231.950 are the Brize Approach frequencies, as above, probably not used for Fairford outside of RIAT.

Fairford Ground UHF is now 378.225

Fairford Dispatch is 276.750

Fairford Command Post (Ops) is 280.025

Fairford Metro is 336.700

Fairford ATIS 135.455 & 292.300

Tower remains 124.800 and 246.350
