If the B-52's are flying direct Barksdale to Fairford they will not need refuelling, if they do they will have to go into a holding pattern over the UK until they burn off the extra fuel down to their permitted MLW, which seems rather pointless.

It would seem more logical that the tankers that went into Pease are supporting a trail of FJ's into Europe or B-52's to the sandpit, but even with the latter I would've thought that the 100ARW would have supported that one and not a CONUS unit. Of course logic at times doesn't get applied

Just a thought, maybe the B-52’s are going to fly to Eastern Europe or somewhere else for some mock bombing before arrival at Fairford.

Surely if the Buffs are capable of flying from the US to here without refuelling, if they were heading over to Eastern Europe before Fairford, it would be more sensible to launch the tankers from here?

Could be, but when they've done that before it was in support of exercises like BALTOPS/Sabre Strike and Ample Strike. All will become clear when the a/c start to move.

Is that for B52s or remaining MO jets?

How would you know its specifically gor B-52's??

Would say MOs at that time, similar to the other 2 ALTRVs as well.

I highly doubt BUFF’s would have an ALTRV but happy to be proved wrong.

Just remember these will be picked up hours before arriving not last minute while on a 10 mile final to FFD ;)

Would it be possible to not post speculation in this thread, and stick to actual facts? It becomes confusing for people and false information gets easily spread.

AR20 is booked for an hour from midday, the big alt block would suggest more than one receiver

AR20(NE) New
10/10/2019 11:00
10/10/2019 12:00
ZBW
Currently 4 SPUR tankers heading that way.
Booked for B52 refuelling as SPUR tankers are heading that way.
Eagles are being refuelled by RCH

On ADSB NE of Nashville 2 (Maybe 3) B52's out of Barksdale. I have read on Twitter that "BRIG 1" is one of the callsigns.
