Shouldnt some support have arrived by now if the buffs were to arrive on 28th? From all the other Ffd posts, all support flights so far ahave been from Whiteman.... or have l missed something?

Believe some support remained at fairford from the January Deployment earlier this year and that personal now travel commercially. But I agree with your point.

Edit: Just double checked Ample Strikes news page and they have B52s still listed as air assets so they should arrive sometime soon.

So, this is purely based on guess work then?

Vulcan, not sure on whether any equipment stayed from January. So can't really comment on that
But the ample strike 'poster info' did show buffs but didn't specify they were being based out of the UK.
They could possibly be doing constant GPM this year or even operating from an already based location somewhere east and Middleish...

On the other hand, the PCB group were taking orders for t shirts and patches for the buffs to bring over in September, Ample Strike normally has buffs based at Ffd, and both Jersey and Sanicole have B52 flypasts listed, so everything points to B52s arriving....just not imminently with the lack of any supprt flight!

Could the issue with the recent cracks found in the engine pylons be an issue?

Additionally ground crew were chatting at RIAT as were pilots saying they will be returning in August. But maybe just not tomorrow we will have to wait and see.

Surely you aren't suggesting that something might be speculation!!!

Scandalous!

Normally its the 307thBW Reserve Buff's at Barksdale that participate in `Ample Strike` with just 1 or 2 a/c so its a low key operation. Due to this connection they normally send a B-52 to the NATO Air Days at Ostrava. Would expect minimal support with most personnel arriving/departing commercially.

Maybe a possibility they arrive after the first mission for Ample Strike? Global power mission to Czech Republic, landing at Fairford afterwards?
