Heli-sheds
I will try to keep this thread updated as much as i can. LH is the left hand heli-shed and RH will be the right hand heli shed.
so for starters, yesterday (9th), the LH currently has XW212 Puma HC2 recently returned from Kabul duties in for rebuild, RH has an unidentified Defender in it, possibly the one that got pranged about 10 days ago.

Re: Heli-sheds
Puma has since left, LH now has Apache ZJ188 inside it, should be gone in a few days time.
There are also some Merlins due back next week, I assume they will head into BZZ.

Re: Heli-sheds
Where are exactly these heli-sheds located at Brize?
Possible to look into them from outside the fence?

Re: Heli-sheds
Any coordinates for these sheds?
Re: Heli-sheds
I believe they are the ones at 51.758644, -1.568546?

Re: Heli-sheds
New arrival (onboard ZZ177) yesterday was RN Merlin ZJ992/AB, once offloaded it headed off to RH for rebuild.
2 more Merlins expected back from the US in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Heli-sheds
RN Merlin ZJ992/AB was out on the pan today, possibly getting ready for a ground run. No sign of the Defender in either shed
Re: Heli-sheds
Defender is in base hangar at present.

Re: Heli-sheds
hi all,
The previous Merlin ZJ992 had gone by at least Thursday, but the Apache ZJ188 was still in LH on Friday, it has been rebuilt so not quite sure why its still here.
On Saturday evening Merlin ZJ998 arrived by C-17, it was towed off to the RH shed and should be getting rebuilt in Base Hangar as I type. I would expect it to go around Thursday.
The third and final Merlin is due back this week, and possibly the Puma that crashed in AFG.

Re: Heli-sheds
apologies folks, missed lots of movements these past few weeks due to sickness
hopefully get some updates after the new year when the exercise programme kicks back in.
One additional note that i havent seen kicking about the internet yet, the old Puma hulk that has been stored in the Movements school hangar is currently sitting outside at the rear of the hangar. If you are at the end of the runway, brize norton village end, u can (just) see it tail on.

Re: Heli-sheds
no sooner did the Wildcats arrive and they went off back to base, the 4th one should be back by now, so no doubt departed today or more likely tomorrow.
An additional note, Apache ZJ186 arrived by C-17 late friday afternoon (i think it was on ZZ174, forgot to make a note) and was parked up outside the JADTEU Hangars until Saturday lunch time. By the time i went to check it out (mid afternoon) it had disappeared, i assume it went into JADTEU (its doing some trials i believe) but it possibly may have gone into Base Hangar instead.

Re: Heli-sheds
4th Wildcat finally made it back on Saturday (5th) evening and was moved into LH shed, Pumas XW204 and XW237 departed on C-17 RR6644 on the 6th. Worthy of note, this is the first time a double puma load has been put onto a C-17, impressive stuff. Puma ZJ ??? is currently in the RH shed and is due to leave sometime later this week.
