C17 Emergency

Anyone know why the RAF C17 attracted the attention of the fire crews today?

Could have been standard / precautionary rather than as an emergency call??

Yes, could have been. Just that two engines to the front and one at the rear, followed by a tow to a stand looked pretty real No problem though, just wondered what it was.

Certainly a mystery.

I was at the 08 end and the approach and landing looked perfectly normal. The fire tenders didn't appear for some minutes after the landing and didn't look to be rushing. In fact, I wasn't aware of anything untoward until I saw the top of the tail in the general runway area about 5 minutes after the landing.

Gave me the chance for a good look at the Luftwaffe C160 holding for take off, though.
