Anyone know the registration of the aircraft flying as SHF266 currently?
It's showing as ZF511 Tucano on all major tracking sites but presumably is actually a Chinook which has had the transponder from an old tucano or had the wrong hexcode put in
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Interesting that 28 are flying a HC5
Re: Miscoded Chinook showing as Tucano query?
I have seen it listed elsewhere as an HC.6A, so it may have been converted over the last year or so and the info hasn't been updated in various databases (e.g. Scramble and UK Serials websites still list it as an HC.5). I think there is no external difference between them, as the conversion is from analogue to digital flight control systems.
Re: Miscoded Chinook showing as Tucano query?
MK5's cant become mk6's, the upgrade you talk about was the upgrade from mk4 to mk6. The mk5's are the extended range cabs (which were the mk3's) with the bigger fuel tanks and the pointy noses so you can tell the difference externally very easy, ZH898 is a Mk5 cabroger4 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 10:24 amI have seen it listed elsewhere as an HC.6A, so it may have been converted over the last year or so and the info hasn't been updated in various databases (e.g. Scramble and UK Serials websites still list it as an HC.5). Ok, thanks - my bad. The "UK Military Review" issued to LAAS members lists the eight Chinooks ZH897 to ZH904 as HC.5s except '898 which it lists as a HC.6A, which is where I got the info from.
