Changes to Grob Tutors:
Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
And G-CGKG is back in service today (after an extended test flight yesterday as "AA762").
Given the changes, I thought it might be worth a current summary:
Prior to the grounding in late 2020, OUAS had nine aircraft in service being G-CGKD, G-CGKG, G-CGKH, G-CGKK, G-CGKL, G-CGKN, G-CGKP, G-CGKS and G-CGKW.
Flying today with OUAS have been G-BYUF, G-BYUV, G-BYWZ, G-CGKG, G-CGKH and G-CGKS. OUAS seem particularly busy at the moment, perhaps it's summer camp?
For the record, of the others noted in previous posts above, several have departed as follows:
G-BYWV departed 17/5 to Wittering (as "CWL24") as noted above,
G-BYWW departed 13/6 to Boscombe,
G-BYWX departed 8/6 to Boscombe,
G-CGKP flew 21/7 (as "AA762") but I think it landed back here, so it may have only been a test flight,
G-CGKU not noted flying here since 23/6, and
G-CGKW departed 11/7 (also as "AA762")

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
I've just returned from a couple of hours there and saw only five of those flying (didn't identify BYUF - required too

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
G-BYUF was airborne between approx 10:15 and 11:00 this morning.

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
Thanks Roger..that was a short session. I didn't get there until nearly 13:00. I suppose it might have been the one sat on the apron that never took off again before being towed away. Unfortunately far too much haze to tell. Fortunately I've realised it's not required after all

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
G-CGKP has just arrived back from Membury as "Cranwell 24".
Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
In service with Oxford UAS in the last couple of weeks have been G-CGKG, KH, KK, KP, KS and KU.
In addition, G-CGKN was delivered back today from Membury as "CWL24", where it has been since 31/8. An hour later G-BYWH left (also as "CWL24") routing back to Wittering. I suspect this was the last of the few in the G-BY** batch that have been here this year.
Of the original nine in the G-CGK* batch that OUAS had in service before the Covid shutdown and then the discovery of the rudder attachment cracks, G-CGKD (guess the callsign - busy pilot!) went to Membury 29/9 for its mods, leaving just G-CGKL unaccounted for.

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
G-CGKW has returned (possibly 16th Jan ?). I didn't see it during a visit on the 17th Jan but did on the 19th.
8 different machines seen on three visits during last two weeks.

Yes, 'KW arrived back on the 16th (as "AAC765") and was taken back into service with the UAS/6AEF the same afternoon.
On the same day, 'KK departed (also as "AAC765"), doing an extended test flight to the south-west of Salisbury, before landing at Middle Wallop.

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
Busy with Grobs today. A total of 8 have been airborne today with the UAS/AEF, namely G-CGKE, KH, KL, KN, KP, KS, KU and KW. Probably making up for lost time after the grounding of the Tutors a couple of weeks ago.
And G-CGKK has just arrived back (as "AAC761"), so I think the unit is back to full strength.

So full strength is 10 machines ? (assuming KG is still present. It last flew last week according to ADSB)
FWIW, I eyeballed KH, KN, KP, KS, KU and KW on Tuesday afternoon (8th).
Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
There appears to have been a recent complete change-around of Grobs with Oxford UAS.
None of the G-CGK* batch have been picked up on my AirNav ADSB system this month.
Instead the following have been in use: G-BYUS, G-BYWD, G-BYWR, G-BYWU, G-BYWY and G-BYXI.

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
And we can also add G-BYXX, first noted today (by ADSB).

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
Eyeballed this afternoon (WD did not fly whilst I was there but did taxi out once and return):
G-BYUL, BYUS, BYWD, BYWY, BYXI, BYXL and BYXX
Update: 06-12-24.
Now I've had chance to log my sightings, it appears G-BYUL and G-BYXL were visiting from Boscombe Down

Re: Changes to Grob Tutors:
G-BYUL is in service today with Oxford UAS, so perhaps it wasn't just visiting when D1scafellpike saw it on the 4th!
